Where is their head office?

The head office is in Bangkok, Thailand.

What does the company do?

Hana is one of the leading independent electronics manufacturing service (EMS) companies in South-East Asia, manufacturing high-quality assembly and test products in areas such as Microelectronics, Semiconductor Integrated Circuit “IC” and Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCOS). The Group manufactures products in 6 production facilities, employing more than 10,000 employees worldwide. The plants are located in Thailand, China, USA and Cambodia, with a total manufacturing floor space of over 1.1 million square feet.

Why do we like the investment?

We like the transparent and innovative management team led by the straight-talking CEO who is part of the company’s controlling family. It is a business that in many ways has mirrored Asia’s development progressing from manufacturing watch parts a few decades ago to parts for Apple iPhones today. Their net cash balance sheet and diversification by product and manufacturing locations feels to us like an appropriate way of running a cyclical business. We are optimistic that the company can continue to grow alongside its core customers while exploring alternative end-markets in the electronics industry, backed by its reputation for high quality standards.
